    About

Krishnamurti Foundation India was established in the year 1928 with the aim of disseminating Krishnamurti’s Teachings. The Foundation is also responsible to run six schools in India.

    SCHOOLS IN INDIA:

    Rishi Valley School, Madanapalle

Rishi Valley School is an Indian boarding school, founded by the philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti. The school has a holistic approach to education in the spirit of Krishnamurti’s pedagogical vision

    Rajghat Besant School, Varanasi

Rajghat Besant School in Varanasi is the second oldest school of Krishnnamurti Foundation India and one of the resident-cum-day schools of India, established in 1934 by Jiddu Krishnamurti.

    The School, Chennai

The School KFI strives to create and sustain an atmosphere of learning so that children, in the words of J Krishnamurti, may “flower in goodness”.

    The Valley School, Bangalore

The Valley School is a co-educational private day school 20 km south of Bangalore city in India. The school was founded in 1978 by philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti. The student population of the school is around 325 from classes 1 to 12.

    Sahyadri School, Pune

It was Krishnamurti’s oft-expressed wish that there should be a school in Western India. This wish was realized during the Birth Centenary year of Krishnamurti with the commencement of Sahyadri School in September, 1995.

    Pathashaala, Elimichampet

Pathashaala PCFL-KFI is a residential school situated in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, and was established in 2010. The campus uses energy sparingly and is designed with solar energy and a windmill.

These schools have also undertaken initiatives in areas such as rural education, rural health, women empowerment, biodiversity and hydro-geological conservation and waste-water recycling.

A new initiative of Teacher Education Program is also begun. This program makes use of the open source LMS system, Moodle.

Besides maintaining archives of Krishnamurti’s Teachings, the Foundation is active in making use of contemporary digital media technologies. It is also responsible for the maintenance of the website jkrishnamurti.org which is built on top of ‘Drupal’ – an open source CMS.
